BU CDMO is gathering more than 1000 employees based in 7 sites located in Europe and USA. It is a leading player in fast-growing CDMO market (ADC, Omega3…) with technology-driven differentiation such as chromatography, hazardous chemistry, cryogeny and flow chemistry.
To strengthen our presence worldwide, the Sales department is looking for a Director of Business Development to actively grow the CDMO business of the Group in the Boston area. This position is home based.
Essential Functions:
· Grows Axplora’s CDMO business in defined territory, specifically Boston region, through targeted leads follow up and prospection
· Responsible for entire CDMO business cycle including customer needs determination, proposal generation, contract negotiation and closing
· In collaboration and with the support of the technical group in Europe, leads the proposal generation process
· Responsible for winning new customers and/or projects
· Has primary ownership for building strong, multi-layered relationships with customers to encourage strategic alignment and to understand mutual interests
· Participates in sales meetings and trainings
· Promotes the company’s CDMO services based on all core technologies to existing and potential new customers
· Accountable for Data accuracy in CRM including S&OP Demand forecasts tool (CRM4CAST)
· Accountable for delivering/exceeding his/her annual objectives
· Provides competitive intelligence and sales report: visit reports, sales reports, market information reports as required by the Head of Sales & BD of the Region
· Networks with industry groups to keep up-to-date on markets, customer activities, and new opportunities or threats.
· Attend and actively participate in relevant industry trade shows and events
· Travel estimated to be approximately 40-50%
Qualifications : EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· A minimum of a Bachelor degree ( BS/BA) in chemistry, engineering, or related technology field is required
· Minimum of 10 years of Sales & Business Development activities in CDMO Pharma (European CDMO would be a plus)
· Experience within the Biotechnology and/or Pharmaceutical industry required
