Role & Responsibilities
We are expanding rapidly and seeking a Head of Business Development to spearhead our new business initiatives, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth efforts. This role involves managing the sales team, developing and implementing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth by attracting and closing mid-market and enterprise deals. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Business Development will collaborate closely with Directors to align sales efforts with overall business goals and build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners.
Lead and expand the sales team, including assisting in hiring, onboarding, and training sales team members.
Provide mentorship to the sales team by conducting 1:1 check-ins and leading performance reviews.
Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs and career development initiatives, identify training needs, and collaborate with subject matter experts to provide employees with the resources and support needed to achieve their full potential.
Partner with the CEO to build and oversee the sales department, taking ownership of its growth. Identify, strategize & document improvements that can be made to the processes, services, and deliverables that the sales department is responsible for.
Identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients, and maximize customer lifetime value.
Set the strategic vision for pipeline management, driving innovation and establishing best practices for pipeline optimization and growth. Collaborate closely with executive leadership to develop long-term pipeline strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
Strategize with the marketing team to brainstorm ideas for lead generation and support RFP responses by writing proposals.
Present proposals and pricing options to warm leads, guiding them through the decision-making process.
Maintain HubSpot CRM to track and manage leads, opportunities, and customer interactions effectively.
Collaborate with project managers to accurately scope e-commerce projects based on client requirements.
Pitch and secure service orders, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
Collaborate with legal to review and apply red lines on contracts.
Collect sign-off and accounting information for seamless transition to project implementation.
Present documentation to the internal team to ensure alignment and preparedness for project execution.
Alongside Account Managers, work with current clients to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, ensuring maximum client satisfaction and retention.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings to promote brand awareness and foster strategic alliances.
Requirements

Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a sales leadership role, preferably within the eCommerce or digital agency industry.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and close deals.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement sales plans that align with business goals and objectives.
Experience with CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot) and data analysis tools.
Experience in the Shopify space.
