About This Role
As the Accounting Manager at Writer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the company's financial health and success. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and managing accounts payable and receivables. With your expertise, you'll provide valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive the company's growth.
Reporting to the head of finance, the accounting manager will supervise the accounting function, which currently has one full-time employee, and provide timely, accurate, and useful accounts.
????️ Your responsibilities
Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
We analyze financial data and prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records
Prepare and file tax returns
Providing financial advice and guidance to management
Work with external auditors and other financial professionals
Keep current on accounting standards and best practices
Identify and mitigate financial risks
Supervise and scale accounting team
️ Is this you?
Strong accounting and financial management skills
Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, with timely and accurate close
Track record of managing first audit at growth technology companies
Experience with budgeting and forecasting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience leading accounting team, and working independently
Proficiency in accounting software, with experience upgrading ERP
Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
CPA, with at least 10 years of experience
AND
High intellectual curiosity and a proclivity to lean into a new subject matter

Intrinsically motivated: you set the highest possible bar for what you build and ship
An eye for spotting an opportunity, intuition for determining which ones to prioritize, and courage to follow through
