Vice President of Business Development – Major Accounts
The Vice President – Business Development is vital to our growth. This role is responsible for selling healthcare performance improvement solutions and services to the C-level of prospective and existing large-sized hospital and medical center clients. Responsibilities include initiating, developing, and maintaining executive relationships with hospitals, health systems, and various partner channels; prospecting and developing new client relationships; sourcing and closing projects, engagements, and business opportunities with new and existing clients; contributing to proposals, RFPs, and other business requests; meeting/exceeding sales targets.
Essential Duties
Leverage consultative experience and existing C-level relationships as well as prospect and develop new client opportunities with the goal of expanding the company’s presence in the healthcare consulting space.
Build and maintain an extensive pipeline of qualified new client opportunities.
Collaborate with personal network, external advisors, partner channels, and existing clients to gain access/introductions to new prospects.
Meet or exceed quarterly/annual sales goals and objectives.
Contribute to the development of the company’s sales and business development forecasting and planning.
Establish and cultivate industry contacts and client networks; participate in industry events as appropriate.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and assessments.
Maintain strong awareness of firm services, industry trends, and relevant regulatory updates and changes.
Identify and pursue opportunities to upsell and/or cross-sell other firm services.
Respond to client-related inquiries, issues, concerns, and requests, and collaborate with other practice leaders and executives as appropriate.
Work with internal team members to ensure the quality of client service and relationships is maintained.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Partner.
Requirements
Relevant education and experience. MBA desired.
Demonstrated sales success within a professional services environment. Healthcare experience is required, and hospital focus is ideal.
Proven success selling performance improvement solutions to large and mid-sized hospitals and medical centers, including academic and children's healthcare facilities.
Proven success in meeting sales targets and identifying and closing new and existing consulting engagements.
Excellent business acumen with the ability to develop and build new relationships at the C-level.
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including presentation mastery.
Ability to support new business efforts, including contributing to proposals and RFPs.
Demonstrated experience successfully managing client relationships and projects.
Strong ability to identify problems and quickly recognize solutions.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to commit to frequent travel.
