Star Citizen, the record-breaking space sim and massively multiplayer online game, is currently in Open Alpha Access but already has over 5 million users. This role is based in Los Angeles and will work with a highly dispersed marketing team based in LA, Texas, the UK, Germany, and Montreal. This is an inherently collaborative leadership role and will require you to interface regularly with our brand and product teams, creative services, marketing production, website and platform, community, and direct marketing depts. After a few years of experimenting with earned, owned, and lite paid channels, we are ready to bring onboard a leader to take us to the next level of global growth, and write the next chapter of our paid growth story. We aren’t neophytes to incredible growth. At the highest level, the Director of Growth needs to own the holistic growth of the Star Citizen user base and community, and the growth plan of Squadron 42. The Growth Director will concept, plan, and lead omnichannel strategies for paid user acquisition and reactivation, prioritizing sustainable growth that respects the state of the product and community. They will be assisted by and oversee third-party agencies in the execution of our growth marketing campaigns. The Growth Director will lead a diverse range of projects, including: Managing, mentoring, and expanding a team of growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, and marketing analysts. Overseeing holistic paid growth strategies, overseeing new user acquisition and customer lifetime value management. Crafting both long-term growth plans and day-to-day tactical strategies. Efficiently allocating and managing a growing user acquisition budget to achieve KPI targets and revenue growth. Owning the customer funnel from site visit to purchase across various channels. Monitoring, optimizing, and reporting campaign performance across active ad networks. Developing an internal performance marketing framework for measuring and optimizing growth. Optimizing the lifecycle marketing journey for retention and engagement. Collaborating with Creative Services and Brand teams on ad creative development. Staying updated on advertising trends and advocating for new channels and formats. Maximizing acquisition and engagement for live events in collaboration with Game Development and Live Ops. Ideal candidates should have: 7+ years of experience leading growth, user acquisition and marketing for gaming or ecommerce brands. 4+ years of team management experience, driving growth and revenue targets. Demonstrated success scaling multi-million dollar annual UA budgets. Experience with diverse global ad markets and complex budget strategies. Strong analytical skills and ability to derive actionable insights. Understanding of holistic growth campaigns and experience with various marketing channels.
