Develop and maintain close business relationships with the Bank's members, while employing a consultative approach to selling the Banks products and services to those members. Focus on assessing the needs of the assigned members and aligning those needs with products and services either provided by the bank or being developed by the bank. Provide appropriate education, training and guidance to members with respect to products and services suitable to meet the specific needs of those members. Identify and develop potential sales opportunities through several activities such as regular member contacts, member visits, phone calls, conferences and email etc. Reinforce FHLB's value proposition by providing guidance and selling the Bank's credit products and services in a manner that increases the inherent business value of its members. Assist members in maximizing the value of their membership by cross selling the Bank's products, services and grant opportunities in a manner consistent with the needs of each individual member.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grow, gain, and retain business relationships with members. Cross-sell the Bank's current portfolio of products and services, while developing a level of trust and confidence with members that foster discussions of ways that the Bank may provide creative, strategic solutions for them. Utilize consultative sales techniques to enhance the value of the member institution's membership.
Work with the Head of Member Sales and other areas of the Bank to identify marketing opportunities for the development of new products and services.
Work with the Head of Member Sales and Corporate Communications Department in the development of appropriate marketing and advertising materials for the Bank's products and services.
Represent the Bank at business related functions including trade group conferences and FHLBank system conferences.
Recruit new members through active solicitation of nonmember institutions eligible for membership.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree with a major in business, finance, accounting, or economics required.
Broad understanding and working knowledge of 1) the capital markets, 2) asset/liability management, and 3) commercial and residential lending and mortgage lending. Knowledge of the FHLBank System strongly preferred.
8-10 years of sales, relationship management, regulatory or marketing experience.
Ability and flexibility to travel to member locations at a place and time convenient for members, as well as attend Bank and industry functions, conferences, etc.
Excellent organizational, presentational, interpersonal, and creative skills, with a thorough knowledge of PC based applications
Ability to travel up to 40%.
