The Opportunity

The Human Resources Director is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of HR policies, procedures, and activities that support the company’s mission and strategy while ensuring legal compliance. Additionally, this position will manage the activities and development of other Human Resource team members as well as work with HR and other department team members to drive a positive and engaging employee experience companywide. The HR Director will plan and implement company-wide projects to drive business strategy and initiatives.

The Team

You will report directly to our VP of Finance. You will also work with our vendors, clients, and internal departments both in person and virtually.

The Environment

This is an office-based role in our Folsom, CA headquarter location. You will work primarily onsite in a controlled office environment.

Your Key Contributions

Implement and streamline the recruiting and onboarding process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding

Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge

Create a compensation strategy based on market research and pay surveys

Manage employee relations; proactively address employee relations issues and provide guidance to management as needed

Implement and maintain performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development plans.

Provide guidance and support to managers on performance-related matters.

Develop, implement, and oversee employee engagement and relations processes

Benefit strategy and implementation

Manage internal trainings and ensure compliance with annual reporting

Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations in policy and procedure development

Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; Conduct salary reviews and ensure compensation is competitive and in line with market data

Stay up-to-date on employment laws and regulations and ensure compliance across the organization.

Design and implement employee retention strategies

Auditing of applicable payroll reports

Prepare reports and analytics on HR metrics and trends for management review.

Traits for Success

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus

Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management roles, preferably in a technical or engineering-focused environment

Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations

Proven track record with establishing recruiting strategies, fostering a good company culture in growth-mode

Implementation of KPI’s to measure success for the HR team

Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Experience managing payroll for multi-state organization

Experience consulting with and advising management and employees

Demonstrated strong foundation in core HR fundamentals to effectively support the organization on various HR practices and processes

Familiarity with legislation concerning employment such as: ADA, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA, Title VII

Effective presentation skills

Team player and self-starter with ability to remain calm in stressful situations; must be able to effectively communicate and develop trusting relationships with employees at all levels

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, able to thing critically

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Experience in the renewable energy industry is a plus

Pay Transparency

This announcement is open to the Director level. The base pay range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000/annual salary. This is an overtime Exempt position. Compensation is based on market rate, job level, job related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and certifications. This is a Full Time opportunity.
