At Kaman Corporation, the IT Vendor & Asset Mgmt Manager is a working manager who leads the IT Vendor & Asset team while managing team operations and performing day to day IT vendor, asset, procurement, and software licensing/compliance activity. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager IT Vendor & Asset Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Foster commitment to providing exceptional support experience while demonstrating end-to-end ownership of care for our customers and colleagues
Manage team operations and perform day to day IT vendor, asset, procurement, and software licensing/compliance activity.
Develop and manage short-term and long-term asset management and procurement strategies
Champion ongoing continuous improvement efforts amongst IT and business stakeholders
Serve as Tier 2 escalation point for all IT vendor and asset related matters
Respond to real time customer requests for support within the Vendor & Asset Management space
Provide business leadership relevant analytics in support of their strategic business planning
Vendor and customer support tool internal SME for integration of functionality to business strategy, ensuring delivery of technical support and modifications, and continuous improvement
Support Sr. Manager IT Vendor & Asset Mgt in strategic relationship with Corporate and Business teams
Create process and drive execution in the areas of IT Procurement, Asset Management, Software Licensing, and Supply Chain activity, as performed internally and through external business partners
Manage recurring competitive bid analysis of IT primary vendors
Ensure accuracy and accessibility of IT asset and vendor data in our systems
Drive cost savings through supplier rationalization, process simplification, re-sourcing, and negotiation.
Manage response to after hours, VIP, and P1/P2 call events relevant to the activities of the IT Vendor & Asset Mgt team.
Oversee negotiation of enterprise-wide IT supplier contracts, including master agreements, statements of work, and price lists.
Communicate sourcing and contracting procedures and operating standards throughout the organization.
Leader in Software Licensing and Client Device value stream efforts during merger, acquisition, and divestiture activity
Review IT contracts, including contracts for software, hardware, SaaS, network, data center hosting services, consulting services and outsourcing
Maintain high level of inter-team cooperation and support with other IT teams and business stakeholders
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to work independently with little supervision and lead a team
Excellent writing and oral presentation skills as well as time management skills
High level of competency in the use of MS Office product suite with a focus on Excel data manipulation
Comfortable with conflict and adept at problem resolution
Proven, successful experience communicating and collaborating effectively across multiple corporate entities, both in the U.S and Internationally in support of overall corporate goals
Excellent work prioritization skills in support of multiple competing requirements
Strong business acumen including ability to understand non-technical business information
Ability to manage small teams and collaborate cross-functionally
EXPERIENCE
10+ years IT management including supervisory experience
Possess strong understanding of the role IT plays in support of business strategic spend goals, cost avoidance, and limitation of license & contract risk exposure.
Project management & delivery background
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Because of the critical nature of support needs, this individual may be required to work on weekends and/or evenings and must be available to respond to "calls" and respond within one hour of notification and connect remotely or respond in person. This may include occasions when out-of-town travel is required on relatively short notice.
