Payroll Manager
Position Overview: The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and supervising the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Perform periodic payroll audits and prepare reports for review by management.
Handle and resolve complex employee payroll issues.
Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
Manage and supervise the payroll team.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
5+ years of payroll experience with a deep understanding of payroll and tax laws.
Experience managing and supervising a payroll team.
Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
