Description Summary of position:
Walker, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization supporting at-risk youth, their families, and communities through therapeutic and educational programs. Founded in 1961, programs include an array of residential, learning, and counseling services. The Advancement Department partners with a caring community of donors and volunteers through a variety of fundraising events and initiatives.
The Senior Director of Advancement works closely with the Vice President of Advancement to guide and implement strategic department planning and team strategy, especially as it relates to corporate relations. The Senior Director of Advancement, Corporate Partnerships will serve as a key member of the Advancement department responsible for stewarding and securing corporate charitable support. This position will manage a portfolio of corporate relationships and actively develop a pipeline of new corporate philanthropic partners. This position will envision new initiatives and/or develop ways to enhance existing corporate partnership opportunities through employee giving, volunteerism, sponsorship, and more to help carry out the organization’s strategic plan to grow corporate partners. This position will supervise and work closely with the Director of Events and Volunteers to offer exciting, high-profile event and volunteer opportunities to a portfolio of partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Steward and solicit a portfolio of existing corporate partners and new prospective partners through special outreach, stewardship, and fundraising events.
Perform research, seek affinity matches, identify connections, and utilize moves management to develop and actively cultivate a pipeline of new corporate supporters.
Update current and design new corporate connection opportunities to further engage existing and develop new corporate relationships.
Engage and network with all corporate volunteers at all volunteer projects and follow up as appropriate.
Utilize all marketing channels to highlight corporate partners and promote engagement opportunities; ensure sponsors receive all marketing benefits related to sponsorship.
Oversee Director of Events and Volunteers in their efforts to implement a comprehensive array of event and volunteer projects; provide mentorship and generate ideas to enhance cultivation opportunities.
All other duties as assigned.
Education and Licensure:
1. Bachelor’s Degree
Skills & Qualifications:
1. 7-10 years fundraising experience and/or a development not-for-profit office demonstrating position requirements
2. Positive relationship management skills and the ability to connect with donors and other stakeholders
3. Ability to meet deadlines and follow through with multiple projects simultaneously
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Positive team management skills
6. Ability to multitask and shift priorities based on pressing needs
7. Strong attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to respond to and follow through with requests quickly and professionally
2. Must be able to sit at workstation for prolonged periods of time, consistent with OSHA standards
3. Must have the ability to access different building locations, initiative/event locations, equipment, mailboxes, kitchen, etc.
4. Must have the ability to lift packages up to 15 pounds
5. Must have access to transportation to/from initiative or event locations outside of office location
6. Must have the ability to order, pick-up, and/or deliver supplies for initiatives/events if needed
