About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Finance (Corporate Controller) to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to develop and advance cell therapies for autoimmune diseases. The successful candidate will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for all accounting and financial reporting activities, with a focus on optimizing the close process, maintaining internal controls, and managing relationships with external accounting and audit service providers. This role demands a professional with a strong background in public biotech company finance, including the ability to meet SEC reporting requirements, and a commitment to the values of the company, which include intellectual humility and dedication to the transformative potential of the work.Key responsibilities for the VP, Finance include ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial statements, developing and enhancing financial policies and controls, providing leadership for financial operations, and overseeing the external reporting process for SEC filings. The role also involves close collaboration with the legal team to review complex contracts for accounting treatment, as well as preparing materials for Board and Audit Committee meetings. The ideal candidate will have a CPA and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, or business, with at least 15 years of experience in accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a public biotech company. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of team leadership and development are essential.
