Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 5,400 TK-College students across 29 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. Position Overview
The Senior Accounting Manager supports the finance department, and thrives in entrepreneurial, high-volume environments. Reporting to the Controller, ensuring financial stability and compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and best practices. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Controller and other members of the leadership team.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the monthly closing of the books
Participate in and provide significant and necessary support for the annual financial audit, ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State and other related regulations, statutes, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and policies and procedures
Ensures that all accounting records and reconciliations are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP
Prepares various schedules for the Form 990
Oversee the completion of the tasks required to complete month end and year end closing including cut-off procedures, account reconciliations, roll forwards and journal entries.
Performs general accounting functions inherent in the operations of an accounting department, including the preparation of schedules and other analytical reports as requested.
Support the creation and ongoing reporting on the annual budget
Work closely with other departments to understand the nature of funding or revenue sources to ensure all documentation and expenditures comply with applicable policies and procedures.
Advise Organizations on Financial Decisions. Evaluate financial documents for inefficiencies and suggest solutions to problems.
In partnership with HR, oversee payroll processing.

Qualifications
Commitment to BGCP’s mission and vision working with youth
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization
CPA or CMA a plus
Ability to flourish in a dynamic environment
Comfort with MS Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel pivot tables and vlookups
Detail-oriented and analytical individual with excellent computer skills
Work collaboratively with departments and site managers on fiscal questions and understanding
Focus on process
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to providing excellent customer service
Experience with banking platforms and donor management systems is a plus
Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
LOCATION
Menlo Park, CA
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm; Hybrid work model (In-office for 3 days, and work from home 2 days)
Salary & Benefits
Employment Status: Full-Time, Salaried
Pay Range: $124,000-$147,000, depending on experience (DOE)
Health Benefits: BGCP covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums; 50% for dependents
