About the Role
The Company, a leading music creation software developer, is seeking a VP of Engineering to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a diverse engineering team of 25 across various disciplines, including Backend, Frontend, R&D, QA, Data, and Web engineering. This role is integral to the executive team and requires a deep passion for music technology, strong leadership skills, and technical expertise. The VP of Engineering will provide strategic vision, mentorship, and technical oversight, ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects and alignment with the company's goals. Collaboration with the VP, Product and other cross-functional leaders is essential to drive innovation and maintain the quality and performance of software products. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, a minimum of 8 years' experience leading software engineering functions, and a proven track record of shipping products to a large user base.To be successful in this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 8 years' experience in software engineering leadership, with a focus on high-velocity development and complex product architectures, is required. The role demands at least 8-10 years of experience in a range of programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, and 5+ years leading teams in various technical areas. Experience in cloud computing and a deep understanding of the music industry landscape are also essential. The VP of Engineering should possess excellent leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to inspire and guide team members, as well as strong communication and interpersonal abilities. A visionary mindset, experience with agile methodologies, and the ability to balance speed and quality in software delivery are key attributes. Experience with AI and machine learning technologies is highly desirable, and the candidate should be adept at thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
