Certified Payroll Specialist
Location:

Pay Rate Range:
$30 to $32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Assignment Type:
Temp (3-6 months)
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sacramento, CA. As a Certified Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintain and update payroll records, including adjustments, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and certified payroll reporting requirements.
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for government contracts.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management, providing exceptional customer service.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and reports.
Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Required Qualifications:
Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a construction or government contracting environment.
Experienced in corresponding systems (such as LCP Tracker, EMARS, and DIR)
Strong knowledge of federal and California state payroll laws and regulations.
Experience with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage laws.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the construction industry or with government contracting.
Familiarity with union payroll and benefits administration.
