Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Director of Business Development to join our team who is hungry to win new business while having fun doing it! This role is designed for an innovative thinker who loves selling digital marketing and advertising. Your primary mission will be to engage with prospective eyecare industry clients boasting million-dollar budgets who have yet to experience the transformative solutions we offer. This position requires a blend of strategic cold and warm outreach, focusing on cultivating long-term partnerships that resonate with our innovative spirit.

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for creating and growing relationships with Clients (globally) while working directly with our Client Services team to ensure the Clients' goals are met. This is a sales role at its core, and performance will be analyzed based on adding new Clients and the growth of existing accounts.

They will work closely with our CEO, who leads our Sales Department, and our Director of Client Services and Events regarding project deliverables.

What will you be doing?

Spearhead initiatives to identify and engage new clients that have yet to do business with us while also engaging existing clients with large budgets.

Execute strategic outreach programs, balancing cold and warm leads, to introduce potential clients to our comprehensive suite of digital marketing, content creation, advertising, events, and agency services.

Work collaboratively with our Business Development and Client Services departments to tailor proposals that align with prospective clients' unique needs and aspirations. Proposals will be largely digital and include a mix of event sponsorships, advertising, digital marketing, and content programs.

Attend 2-4 industry trade shows annually to meet with new and existing Clients to develop and expand relationships and drive new business.

Lead the RFP process for any Clients you are assigned to.

Engage with the Account Directors regularly to ensure programs are meeting the proposed expectations and to work towards offering new incremental opportunities to clients throughout the year.

What are the required qualifications?

Proven experience in sales, specifically in custom digital marketing and advertising solutions.

Hungry to build their book of business and extremely confident in their capabilities as a sales professional.

Prepared to grow extremely quickly within the organization.

Organized and able to work with digital tools for record-keeping and internal and external communications.

Exceptional listening capabilities - Actively listens to a Client's needs and designs solutions around these needs.

Exceptional ability to build relationships and engage with potential clients, demonstrating a keen understanding of their needs and how our services can meet them.

A simple, clear, and direct communicator who gets to the point and concludes what they have to say, allowing more time for the Client to talk.

A strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

A commitment to staying informed about industry trends, challenges, and opportunities, leveraging this knowledge to drive business growth.

Candidates with a background in the healthcare industry who understand the needs and regulatory constraints of pharmaceutical and medical device companies are preferred.
