Description
The Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation (PHDC), a non-profit organization funded primarily by the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is looking for an experienced, hands-on, and technically proficient Director of Finance to direct the agency's fiscal operations which encompass an annual $60 to $80 million dollar budget.
This position requires an individual willing to assume a strong leadership role to ensure that the organization is financially sound in a frequently changing and challenging budgetary environment. The general responsibilities for this position will be overseeing all agency accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting functions and cooperating with external financial audit agencies to ensure financial and regulatory compliance. Managing a professional and administrative staff is a significant aspect of the work. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance.

Requirements
This position requires a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with a CPA preferred, and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, which has included supervision of staff as a significant responsibility. Experience working at a non-profit organization is preferred.
Must be able to engage in independent, self-directed planning and execution of complex initiatives, have excellent communication skills, superior computer skills, including experience working with various accounting software programs, strong management ability, including experience supervising staff, and a high level of analytical expertise to effectively deal with complex administrative issues.
