Rare Candy is the first marketplace dedicated to fans & collectors of trading card games and other nerd collectibles. Our mission is to create the premier destination for collectors to buy, sell, trade, and connect with their community online. In other words, we are building the digital equivalent of the world’s best local game store. Since launching 18 months ago, we’ve grown quickly to selling tens of millions of dollars in cards, set all-time records on card sales, and built a 100k+ member community of the most passionate trading card & Pokémon collectors.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial VP of Revenue to accelerate our growth from early-stage startup to scale-up. This person will report directly to our CEO and lead the business side of the company, including sales, marketing, partnerships, as well as key supporting operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who can set ambitious targets, build and develop high-performance teams, and relentlessly execute in a fast-paced environment. You should be an experienced leader passionate about delivering business impact and creating effective, happy teams. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cross-functional teams and owning P&L responsibilities to hit ambitious targets. You should have deep experience in marketing, sales, or growth, be highly analytical and data driven, and relentless in your pursuit of goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Own goals and P&L: Drive explosive topline growth and profitability, with accountability for user growth, buyer and seller acquisition, and marketplace sales.
Go-To-Market Strategy: Drive GTM strategy for the company to hit long-term goals and build a sustainable growth engine, capture market share, and deliver strong profit
Cross-functional leadership: You have deep experience bridging teams and skill sets together to unlock hard problems. You know how to rally product, engineering, design, and other functions around shared company goals and rapid execution
Process Excellence: You know how to build and then optimize a growth machine. You know how to implement rigorous, data-driven processes for forecasting, goal-setting, pipeline management, and performance monitoring across sales, marketing, and product funnels
Talent Development: You have demonstrated experience building a world-class revenue team and know how to attract, hire, and develop top talent. You set a high bar and invest heavily in your team’s growth
Leadership: you are a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and a culture champion. You lead by example, not afraid to get your hands dirty
Qualifications:
Experience leading and scaling GTM teams: 6-8+ years in senior sales, marketing or operations roles. Track record of rapidly scaling revenue from early product-market fit to $100M’s of GMV
Background in high-growth marketplaces or collectibles industry preferred. Strategic Mindset: Ability to define a bold long-term vision, anticipate market shifts, and craft innovative GTM plans to win
Bias for Action: Decisive leader who operates with speed and urgency. Comfortable making critical decisions quickly with limited information.
Analytical Rigor: Exceptionally data-savvy, with a habit of diving deep into metrics to uncover insights and drive step-change improvements. You should know how to build forecasts, set an aggressive monthly and quarterly sales goals, and be able to break those down across your team into team KPI’s and individual OKR’s
Operational Discipline: Skilled at setting up the processes, rhythms and infrastructure needed to run a well-oiled hyper-growth machine
Talent Leadership: Proven ability to attract top-tier talent, develop high-performing teams, and upskill an entire organization. You should be empathetic yet consistently demand high standards for your team’s work
Adaptability: Flexibility to pivot quickly based on market feedback and changing business needs in a dynamic startup environment

This role can be based in either our New York or Dallas office. Open to remote for the right candidate
