Job Description
ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Technical Specialist to join our team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This role will make an impact by meeting the future needs of our FAA customer that includes securing data across networks in the enterprise.
SUMMARY:
Provides expertise in the area of field support of NAS systems and NAS maintenance and operations. Interfaces with other specialists in hardware, software, logistics, testing and system and database administration.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide 2nd level engineering support for the NextGen Weather Processor and possibly other AJW-171 Weather Systems
Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for hardware, software or other technical issues
Identify and document defects, bugs and inconsistencies, technical assistance, and system maintenance in a ticketing system/database
Execute technical procedures related to installation, restoration, and system maintenance
Support system development/testing/integration/deployment activities for NWP
Review and comment on system engineering documents; system requirement documents; system testing documents
Attend system design reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and team
Provide on site support
Perform routine maintenance tasks in a lab or operational environment
May be tasked to support other systems within AJW-171
Works independently under general guidelines or objectives
Works independently with minimal supervision
Security US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust

REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED required and fifteen (15) years of related experience, including at least ten (10) years of NAS experience.
An Associate’s Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of two (2) years of experience
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of four (4) years of experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience in performing system testing including issue documentation, troubleshooting, test procedure creation, and test report generation
Possess a technical understanding of systems; databases; networking; computing environments; virtualization and hardware
Proficient technical writing and oral communication skills
Diplomacy when interacting with customers and stakeholders
Preferred Flexibility to work in different environments
Analytical and problem-solving ability
Knowledge of Aviation Weather Products
Work Environment and Physical Demands Must be willing to travel. On call for site support
Full-time position, standard work hours, no specified job duration
On-site at the FAA WJHTC in EHT, NJ
