Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will assist and support the Controller in managing the accounting and finance department by providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all ODW Logistics activities, which assists management and other users in making educated, economic decisions about the future of ODW Logistics.

Assists the Controller with overseeing the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits.
Manages the activities of the Accounts Payable Department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, employee expense reports.
Manages the activities of the Accounts Receivable Department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application.
Establishes and maintains systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value.
Identify areas of opportunity for process improvements and coordinate with internal and external resources to resolve exception issues or implement improvements.
Monitor system processing functionality to ensure that optimum processing and reporting requirements are achieved.
Responds to the CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports.
Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred).
Must have 5 years of hands-on accounting experience with 2 years management experience.
3PL industry experience (Preferred).
Skills and Background
Working knowledge and proficiency with computer hardware and software; including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Windows based accounting software (Great Plains).
Proven self-starter.
Warehouse Management System experience (Preferred).
Microsoft Office Applications, data entry and internet experience.
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge.
Contractual negotiation a plus.
Strong managerial abilities.
Language Requirements
Ability to hear, read and comprehend, write, and communicate.
