Reporting to the Controller, you will be an integral part of helping manage the accounting and finance activities of our management company and help support our operating portfolio entities scale its accounting operations. This role is hands-on as you will contribute to the end-to-end, timely and accurate financial reporting process including oversight of the accounts payable and receivable processes, general ledger entries, account reconciliation, and accounting research and process implementation.

Job Responsibilities:
Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of the management company entities including accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing to portfolio companies, customer credits and collections, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, employee reimbursements, and intercompany allocations.
Actively involved in the annual management company budgeting process.
Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing controls and checks across all departments.
Improve the time to close the general ledger on a monthly basis, including portfolio company billings.
Regularly finds opportunities to improve accounting processes to increase efficiencies and assists in purchase accounting of portfolio companies.
Maintains process documentation for all facets of the accounting cycle, as well as the continued development and documentation of our accounting policies and procedures.
Cultivate internal relations at all levels by providing support and working cross-functionally across departments.
Supervisory responsibility to manage, train, and evaluate the accounting team, including planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, reviewing performance, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensure reporting of monthly results from portfolio companies are accurately reported to senior management and develop management reporting across the enterprise to simplify access to financial data that allows senior management to make on-the-fly decisions.
Perform various ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
CPA license or MBA strongly preferred
Minimum of 6 years of related professional accounting experience
Possess in-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting rules to properly record entries
Expert level proficiency in all MS Office applications, especially Excel
Strong administration/time management skills essential
Must be inquisitive and able to solve problems creatively
Exemplary written and oral communication skills required
Creative individual with a keen eye for detail and precision
Self-starter with ability to work independently, but unafraid to ask questions
Dedication to collaboration, process improvement and innovation
Effective in researching and recommending policies and procedures to all levels of management
