Summary
Responsible for securing comprehensive waste management contracts and developing long-term customer relationships while maximizing account penetration and customer retention with hospitals, medical institutions, large quantity generators (LQG’s), small quantity generators (SQG’s), pharmaceutical manufacturers, and other waste generators. This role will service the MD, DC, Northern VA areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
Develops multiple relationships with buying influences in the customer’s organization, including the board of directors, facility manager, safety specialist, nursing, infectious control, outpatient clinics, medical offices, and purchasing.
Consistently ascertains customer needs and current market opportunities.
Assembles and coordinates resources as needed to satisfy market requirements.
Identifies potential opportunities and develops solutions with existing and new customers.
Converts leads into opportunities.
Develops and executes an account specific business plan to identify the long term, mutual support requirements required to facilitate a strong, profitable and successful relationship with customer.
Provides and maintains total account business reports and annual forecasts.
Maintains an acceptable rate of business acquisition.
Gathers and validates preliminary information and performs facility walkthrough, service review or other customer requirements.
Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with customer.
Develops preliminary project fulfillment schedule.
Manages transportation resources and customer service requirements.
Responsible for project estimate, infrastructure and material management selections, pricing, and integration of services.
Responsible for the preparation and review of both proposals and contracts.
Discovers customer concerns and develops service solutions.
Determines marketing, price, and selling strategy.
Reviews and compares contract terms and conditions with Curtis Bay Energy contract standards.
Presents the proposal and negotiates price, terms, and conditions with customer.
Follows up with buying influences.
Prepares transition documents and communicates project readiness for assignment to operations team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings.
Demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
Strong proposal and presentation development, and delivery skills.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and with little supervision.
Ability to multi task with shifting priorities.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in science, business or equivalent from four-year college or university; completion of the Curtis Bay Energy graduate training course; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common specific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write business letters, service proposals, contracts, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Valid Driver’s License, Proof of personal insurance.

This position works in a typical office environment with visits to other offices, plants, and customer sites. Frequent outdoor travel is required to visit customers. During visits to customer sites, the employee is occasionally exposed to waste, moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
