Our client is a large company that is globally headquartered in Chicago. They offer exceptional benefits like 100% paid for medical (for an entire family), good work life balance, great culture. They are seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist to work 3 days in office, 2 from home.
The Payroll Specialist will manage the day-to-day activities in administrating global payroll by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of compensation data, supporting the equity plan record keeping systems, and being able to work closely with various functional groups.
Duties:
Perform a wide variety of processing, record keeping, and reporting activities for multi-state, multi-national payrolls ensuring efficient, accurate and timely delivery.
Ensure all employee information is entered accurately into Workday/ADP, and adheres to federal/state/local regulations, including business travel withholding thresholds.
Maintain employee and payroll records in Workday/ADP, including, but not limited to tax withholding elections, direct deposit set up, timecards, and voluntary deductions.
Administer payroll interface system between Workday/ADP and external carrier connections each payroll cycle.
Administer 401(k) processing each pay period onto Fidelity’s platform.
Coordinate and provide adequate information and timely response related to equity payroll reporting with Finance, Tax and Equity Plan Administrator to ensure accurate W2 records.
Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
Balance and control earnings and deduction totals, identify and corrects out-of-balance conditions.
Create, maintain and update procedure documents, provide analysis and support for process improvements.
Interpret payroll policies and procedures to employees of all levels.
Resolve questions, issues, or concerns related to the payroll inquiries. Provides high quality service to employees and effectively resolves any payroll issues.
Support internal and external auditing requirements for quarterly, year-end, SOX and SOC1 audits of procedures and controls, as needed.
Create, maintain and update procedure documents, provide analysis and support for process improvements, project enhancements and education initiatives.
Researches and prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in compensation administration in a public company.
Experience with tools such as Workday, ADP Workforce Now, ADP Streamline, 3rd Party Payroll Providers, and Shareworks.
Able to process payroll and several types of stock grants, exercises, lapses, reporting, and taxes.
Proficient in Excel and experience with PowerPoint.
