About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to play a pivotal role in advancing its mission of inspiring curiosity and fostering a love of science, technology, and design. The successful candidate will be a passionate and authentic leader, responsible for creating and leading a robust development program. This includes strategy, planning, and overseeing all aspects of fundraising, with a focus on individual, corporate, institutional, and campaign giving. The role demands a collaborative and inclusive approach, with the VP of Development expected to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees, the President and CEO, and the development team.Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Development include setting and meeting fundraising goals, managing a talented team of development professionals, and ensuring the organization's financial growth. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of experience in successful development programs, with a proven track record in major gift solicitation and a genuine commitment to equity and inclusion. The role requires a high degree of financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
