THE ROLE:
The Vice President of Marketing and Sales is responsible for developing and executing strategic performance marketing campaigns to drive ticket sales and revenue growth for Portland Thorns FC. This role oversees all performance marketing initiatives, including digital advertising, social media, email marketing, and data analysis, to optimize fan acquisition and retention efforts. This leader will oversee a team of marketing professionals and work closely with various constituents across Events, Creative, Sales and Analytics departments to achieve ambitious ticket sales targets and maximize revenue opportunities for the club.

What You'll be Up To:
Develop and implement a comprehensive performance marketing strategy that leverages various digital channels, including paid advertising, social media, email, and content marketing, to drive ticket sales and fan engagement.
Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of all digital marketing campaigns, including campaign ideation, creative development, media buying, and performance measurement.
Leverage data and insights to inform marketing strategies, identify target audiences, and optimize campaign performance.
Manage the performance marketing team, including setting goals, providing direction, and ensuring effective execution of campaigns and initiatives.
Continuously monitor and analyze campaign performance data to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
Work cross-functionally with the ticket sales and service team to align marketing efforts with sales objectives and ensure a seamless customer experience for fans attending Providence Park.
Develop and manage the performance marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in performance marketing and ticket sales.
Represent the team at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to foster relationships and identify potential partnerships or sponsorship opportunities.
What it Takes to Be a Thorn: Extensive knowledge of performance marketing channels, including paid search, social media advertising, display advertising, and email marketing.
Strong analytical skills and experience working with marketing data and analytics tools.
Excellent project management, leadership, and team management skills.
Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns.
Passion for soccer and the growth of the sport with a deep understanding of fan behavior and engagement.
