What You'll Be Doing: As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be the key player in developing, executing, managing, and reporting on sales and customer support initiatives across California and Nevada. You will work closely with the regional Director of Operations and a dedicated sales team to expand our market presence and drive sales growth. Your deep knowledge of the product portfolio, customer applications, and the waste and recycling markets will be essential as you adopt a consultative approach to solve client challenges and uncover new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-State Management: Oversee responsibilities for a diverse range of products and customers across several states.
Team Collaboration: Partner with the existing sales team to maximize sales and promote market expansion.
Sales Growth: Increase sales to end-users by highlighting the technical advantages of our products over competitors.
Strategic Development: Create and execute strategies and tactical plans to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.
Market Analysis: Analyze market data to identify new or expanded business opportunities.
Customer Support: Serve as the main liaison between our company and customers, providing first-line product and customer support.
Preventative Maintenance: Work with existing customers to ensure ongoing preventative maintenance inspections and equipment training.
Sales Enablement: Utilize Salesforce CRM and other tools to streamline the sales process, enable accurate reporting, and improve customer support.
Product Expertise: Supply ongoing technical information and advice on our product portfolio to customers.
Demonstrations and Training: Provide machine demonstrations, setups, and customer training on our equipment and components.
Communication: Effectively communicate customer needs, activities, opportunities, and market needs to the regional Director of Operations and team.
Promotional Activities: Prepare and conduct promotional and marketing activities to support sales and customer support efforts.
Travel: Extensive travel through California and Nevada is required.
Critical Skills and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business from an accredited institution is preferred.
Personality: Energetic, highly motivated, and an organized team player with the ability to easily form professional relationships.
Training: Formal sales training is preferred.
Technical Aptitude: Hands-on technical aptitude is preferred.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently convey information to both technical and non-technical customers.
Presentation Skills: Professional presentation skills to effectively present our solutions and product differentiation at various organizational levels.
Interpersonal Skills: High-level interpersonal skills to guide and negotiate with potential customers toward recommended product solutions.
Self-Management: Self-motivated, self-directed, and self-managed with excellent organizational and time management skills.
CRM Experience: Experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred.
Perseverance: Demonstrated achievement in sales, business development, or product management with inherent perseverance to consistently engage and follow up with open leads.
Research Skills: Ability to research and absorb new, unfamiliar industry and product information and convert it into effective sales information or presentations.
Physical Demands & Competencies:
Standing, walking, talking, sitting, and use of hands.
Occasional tasks may involve lifting or moving objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
