About Cyclyx

Cyclyx International, LLC, www.cyclyx.com, is a joint venture formed in January 2021 whose current members include Agilyx ASA, ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell. Since its founding in 2020, Cyclyx has been a post-use plastic feedstock management company working with industry participants to develop innovative recycling solutions for all types of post-use plastics.

Cyclyx is leading the development of a comprehensive set of innovations focused on addressing the world's plastic waste problem with the ultimate goal of increasing the recyclability of waste plastics from 10% to 90%. Cyclyx has developed the ability to assess waste plastics by their chemical properties vs. object identification and then using its algorithms to make custom blended feedstock for various mechanical and chemical recyclers specifications providing new recycling options that have not traditionally existed.

In order to scale the technology Cyclyx has also developed a unique plastic processing facility called the Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC) to process the waste plastics with new methodologies and has also developed a series of landfill deferral programs to divert waste plastics away from the landfill. The innovations Cyclyx has developed provide a disruptive platform to the existing recycling industry and we are looking for highly motivated, creative, and resourceful leaders to join our mission.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Cyclyx Vice President, Operating is the operational leader and day-to-day strategic, execution expert driving the company's vision and infrastructure development to support the achievement of both operational and the organization's financial goals. The VP, Operations role provides leadership for all aspects of a consortium-based, supply chain operations, emphasizing growth and profitability through the execution of both long and short-term goals, key initiatives and through understanding and appropriately preparing for or reacting to the chemical complexities of plastic feedstock logistics.

The ideal candidate will have substantial and relative experience in the waste or recycling industry, preferably in the plastic recycling arena, and a track-record of building and scaling new technologies into operational businesses organizations with entrepreneurial experience in startups as a plus. With a proven history of successfully working with strategic partnerships, often larger than that of the organization, the ideal individual will have succinct and impactful influence and negotiation skills and capabilities. For this VP, Operations role, we are looking for an inspiring operational leader that knows how to effectively communicate an inspiring mission, engage others to follow and execute on the vision of making Cyclyx the industry-leading, groundbreaker and solution provider for customers who are looking for "plastic waste as a feedstock" to meet their needs for the circular economic for plastics.

The VP, Operations will partner with the Cyclyx Senior Leadership Team, function support departments and other key stake holders to support the development and negotiation of profitable deal structures and reflect the company in a way that will generate excitement about investing and supporting the company. Understanding the current vision of Cyclyx and developing the operational strategy is critical to ensuring all operational departments and key partnerships are aligned and collaborating to successfully meet/exceed the organizational goals. Working with the senior leadership team to set operational priorities, grow the operations of the business and achieve profitability through innovative, day-to-day operations, this position will ensure that critical business projects remain on track and the business continues toward sustainable growth and the development of real-time solutions for the future of a new circularity recycling industry.

Responsibilities

Will be responsible for the infrastructure development efforts and operational oversight of the following functions: CCC development and operations, sourcing, commercial sales, supply chain, engineering, lab and technical services, data strategy and integration and safety.

Lead the development of assigned functional strategies that support the overarching corporate and business strategies.

Effectively manage the HR components of the assigned functions including staffing, training, performance management while maintaining and advancing the company's innovative and mission driven culture.

Provide key oversight to overall operations team and proactively communicate risks and opportunities to the CEO and SLT providing regular updates and feedback related to the strategic, operational, and programmatic matters impacting the business, and the challenges in meeting key goals and milestones.

Evaluate the Profit and Loss (P&L) performance against budgets and take necessary action to address any substantial misalignments and deviations

Maintain, monitor, and report on operational and financial progress or failures ensuring both CEO and CFO are updated on any deviations from the business operations plan and budget

Promote communication and cooperation among divisions to create a spirit of unity in the organization.

Develop and ensure a reasonable and well-planned annual operating budget that is aligned with the strategic goals of the business.

Requirements

Master's degree in a relative field or substantial experience to meet the requirements of the position

A minimum of 10 years of executive/C-suite level experience in leading operations for first-of-its-kind operation with a field service team across a multistate operation.

Entrepreneurial experience in early-stage organizations a plus

Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L including margins across divisions.

Strong background in technology or engineering industries creatively solving both business and engineering challenges and creating opportunities

Experience managing or actively participating in successful deal negotiation process within a start-up, JV, M&A, or similar business environment

Proven history of success as a senior operational leader or in a similar leadership role within a middle market field service or route business

Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed (amount of travel will vary based on business needs and demand)

Demonstrated experience building highly effective teams with succession and development for future growth and expansion initiative

Displays a powerful executive presence to take leadership over any business operations area

Leverage highly developed leadership and managerial capabilities required to lead a rapidly growing operation

Excellent senior-level, executive financial acumen with the ability to quickly assess financial strengths and weaknesses in any business situation

Superlative communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as an operational leader within a fast-paced, growing organization

Thorough understanding of leadership, management and financial practices in all areas and phases of operational management and providing business solutions

Position Mechanics

Reports to : Chief Executive Officer

Type : Salaried, exempt; Full time

Work Hours : Generally, 8:00-5:00, Monday to Friday. There could be occasional evening and weekend work.

Staff : 5-6+ Direct Report

Location : Houston, TX

Work environment : Primarily office environment but may also work in an industrial environment at times where the use of PPE is required.

Travel : Up to 50% travel is required, but travel needs may vary depending on business requirements

Physical Demands: The physical demands are that of an executive position which may require a strong dexterity and constitution to manage the demands of the role. Occasional lifting and walking; must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in meetings or travel. Wearing PPE as needed.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
