Job Description
The Division Refrigeration Manager is responsible for refrigeration products sales for Baker Distributing in a designated geographic region. Position will collaborate with all Baker employees including RM's, TM's, store associates, vendor partners, and contractors to consistently provide elevated levels of customer satisfaction and achieve sales growth for refrigeration line of business and the associated products. Additionally, this position will have the ability to promote Baker Distributing to our customers and foster sales of HVAC, Foodservice, Parts and Supplies, and other products. The refrigeration manager will provide mentoring, training, sales management, products selection, guidance, etc. to store associates, territory managers, and other Baker associates to effectively achieve refrigeration sales success in their territory. The main objectives for this role include helping Baker Distributing and assigned sales representatives acquire and develop client relationships with existing and new refrigeration contractors, provide product and inventory recommendations, deliver quotes and / or assistance as needed, coordinate refrigeration training for employees and contractors, and other related functions related to growing refrigeration and other line of business sales for the region and division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review with RM's their quarterly sales progress by store and together develop strategic actions for improving and achieving refrigeration sales success with existing and new refrigeration contractors. Discuss opportunities including (but not limited to) new installation refrigeration job quotes, walk in boxes, refrigerant, Copeland compressors, refrigeration equipment, refrigeration service parts, etc.
Time allotment will be split 50/50 between Northern and Southern California regions
Set sales goals for key refrigeration vendors by division and region.
Develop and hone TM's abilities to process refrigeration orders including requesting quotes from vendors for refrigeration jobs, equipment, etc. and to process these quotes into customer bids.
Solicit, foster, and develop new refrigeration accounts and develop market strategies to achieve sales success with these newly developed target accounts.
Establish the following months schedule for internal and external activities and send to manager, RM's, and DP. This should be completed by the 10th of the month
Meet with Refrigeration LOB manager by the 5th of every month to review prior months activities and results and to converse on best practices, strategies, improvement opportunities, etc.
Create yearly plan, syllabuses, and schedule for customer and employee training events. Due in Dec.
Perform or coordinate basic refrigeration training classes for Baker employees in assigned areas. This would include products training, eload training, refrigeration selection training, etc.
Review and analyze refrigeration inventory at all assigned locations for appropriate stocking quantities and products.
Audit refrigeration displays at assigned location for freshness, relevance, etc. and assemble and / or coordinate assembly, maintenance, or tear down of refrigeration displays.
Regularly meet with key refrigeration manufacturer's representatives for sales planning, new products, coordination of target customer calls with assigned reps, customer training sessions, etc.
Create refrigeration marketing / promotions / sales plan in the assigned area. In collaboration with DP / RM / and LOB manager.
High level responsiveness to divisional requests from [email protected] for refrigeration quotes, selections, sizing, assistance, recommendations, etc.
Design refrigeration jobs and create specifications as needed for regions and division.
Distribute pricing updates and company promotions applicable to the area to the appropriate Baker personnel and customers on a regular basis.
Primarily office out of a specific Baker wholesale location as agreed upon with supervisor.
Travel expectations are 60-80% of time spent traveling to, coordinating, participating in customer and employee training classes, vendor sponsored events, industry associations meetings, trade shows etc.
Attend company, vendor, and industry functions to maintain the skills required to meet our customers' needs and expectations on technical developments, product introductions and changes, etc.
Professionally represent Baker Distributing as a leader in the HVACR wholesale industry to ensure maximum territory sales and profitability.
Conduct him / herself in a professional and courteous manner in all aspects of interaction with contractors, customers, vendors, and colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
And here is what you will need to be successful:
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School diploma. Bachelor's Degree in business preferred.
Proficient with Mincron AS400 and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of refrigeration system operation, troubleshooting, product selections, load sizing programs, and system selection desired.
10+ years refrigeration sales experience within the HVACR wholesale industry preferred.
Ability to work cooperatively with sales center management, vendors, and co-workers.
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to problem solve and proactively address customer issues and concerns.
Valid driver's license. Ability to travel within the designated sales territory as well as other locations in
the U.S. as required for company and vendor related initiatives.
Proven success in creating and achieving sales and marketing goals preferred.
Ability to work independently but meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames.
A positive attitude with the ability to learn, teach, and lead.
Ability to create and perform quality sales presentations.
Ability to analyze sales and marketing data.
