A Brief Overview
The Pricing Strategy Director is the highest individual contributor on the Pricing Strategy & Execution team. This role will lead the development of comprehensive pricing models and drive pricing initiatives by partnering with the business and analyzing market conditions. As a member of the Pricing team, you will work across multiple business groups to define pricing strategy and process, analyze discounting behaviors, and design various pricing programs. As a successful pricing strategist, you will be able to think strategically and thrive as part of detailed and fast paced price execution activities. You should have intellectual curiosity, creativity, and proficiency in turning business and data insights into pricing strategy, tactical recommendations and ultimately price execution. Sharp analytical skills and ability to lead projects independently is critical to this role. Interest in creating innovative ways for customers to buy and desire to have fun while growing the business is also important.

What you will do
This role will have a strong focus on revamping and enhancing renewal pricing strategy and process to maximize client lifetime value through driving higher price realization and minimizing churns
Create and improve pricing strategy and process across multiple lines of business to drive profitable growth
Voice of the Customer: Analyze and use qualitative and quantitative data to understand market segmentations, needs, value drivers, and willingness to pay. Extrapolates pertinent trends impacting business performance and incorporates understanding into decision criteria
Strategic Insights: Use external and internal best practices, design and lead strategic and tactical pricing initiatives to drive continuous improvement and find future pricing opportunities. Evaluate marketplace and competitive data to optimally align pricing strategies
Analytics capability: Understand large dataset, and develop analytical models to optimize pricing, discounting, and renewal. Work across business lines to understand balance sheet risk and other risk management fields
Executive Alignment: Be a change agent and strong influencer across multiple functions. Leads presentations to senior leadership. Coordinate cross-functional change-management efforts to promote enduring benefits from pricing
Governance & Execution: Implement and enhance pricing governance. Plan, develop and implement pricing initiatives & campaigns
Performance Management: Develop and centralize KPIs and reports to measure effectiveness and outcomes of pricing actions
Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or Finance; or equivalent experience-Required
Master's Degree in Business Administration-Preferred
Experience Qualifications Typically 15+ years of Pricing strategy experience in SaaS companies-Required
Experience in business consulting, insurance or other risk-based industries-Preferred
Experience in pricing renewal-Preferred
Skills and Abilities Self-starter with ability to navigate complex situations with minimum guidance
Critical thinking and understanding of strategy, marketing and go to market principles
Attention to details and willingness to roll up the sleeves
A multi-level perspective on pricing
Mastery of strategic pricing principles, including packaging, price architecture, & price differentiation
Experience with a full spectrum of pricing models, including subscription and usage-based models
Familiarity with key analytical pricing techniques (bundling, price waterfall, qualitative interviews, quantitative research, Conjoint, etc.)
Experience with subscription business model and pricing renewal
Experience with setting list, target prices, and discounting process
Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to effectively articulate insights and recommend actions
Experience with data analytics and building data models, as well as working with large transactional databases across multiple platforms
High level of proficiency in data tools such as Python, SQL, or Tableau
High level of proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point
Strong organization and project-management skills, including the ability to meet demanding, evolving, and often competing deadlines
Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization
Excellent written / verbal communication skills!
Experience with pricing software a plus
Travel Requirements
Minimal
The salary range for this role is $137,100 to $263,280. The candidate's final salary offer will be based on the candidate's skills, education, work location and experience.
A candidate's compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet's corporate bonus plan.
