Director of Membership Sales

Job Description
The Director of Membership Sales will be reporting directly to the President & CEO and is responsible for overseeing all membership growth-related activities at TXTA, including recruitment, retention, and the development and implementation of member benefits. The primary objective is to grow TXTA’s membership by enhancing the development of prospective member lists and implementing a direct engagement strategy to attract new members. The Director of Membership Sales will also collaborate with the leadership team to create marketing materials and other resources to help drive growth. Additionally, they will work closely with all TXTA Chapters and Steering Committees to promote engagement at the local level.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and expand a list of prospective members in an assigned segment, research companies and identify points of contact
Develop a strategy for successfully bringing new companies into membership through direct engagement while focusing on increasing member retention
Utilize sales, marketing and research activities to generate leads on prospective members
Works with TXTA Membership Committee to develop new and improved membership recruitment tools, benefits and services
Utilize TXTA’s membership database to track all membership activity
Provide weekly internal reports on membership data and updates on membership sales and services
Sets, attends and leads meetings with CEOs and C-Suite executives handling preparation for sales meetings both in-person and on camera virtual—anticipating regular travel
Manage and follow up each sales meeting with a goal to close the sale, helping to integrate prospects into TXTA programming to include safety certification and affinity partnership opportunities
Serves as the primary contact for TXTA Affinity Partnerships
Utilizes Affinity Partnerships to promote membership and works to increase scope of Affinity Partnership Program offerings to membership
Analyzes metrics to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for redirecting membership strategies to ensure association is meeting yearly revenue goals
Collaborates with TXTA staff to promote education and training seminars, association events, and other TXTA member benefits in the acquisition of new members
Responsible for the processing, review and approval of membership applications
Develops and cultivates strong relationships throughout the chapters, association and TXTA volunteer leadership community.
Serves as the liaison between TXTA and local TXTA Chapters and Steering Committees to guide chapters, development local meeting agendas and procure speakers
Improving the environment for the trucking industry in Texas by active engagement with coalition partners and the TXTA legislative and regulatory team
Travel to association and industry events as deemed appropriate
Operate in a mode of constant, interactive improvement while developing strategies and processes to capture business intelligence such as best practices, useful data and other statistics that are valuable for TXTA education programming and member insight

Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communications, sales, public relations, marketing, or related field, with relevant work experience in event coordination
Demonstrated success in membership sales and development, event coordination, budget management and database administration
Experience selling value added services or membership
Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns
Proficiency in membership management systems and databases
Experience with sales or membership databases, specifically association management software or CRMs
Travel – up to 40%
Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), relational databases, project management tools, content management systems, and communication/marketing automation tools
