Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Director of Vendor Management.
Position Summary:
The Director of Vendor Management’s primary responsibility is to oversee all vendor activity in accordance with all state and CFPB requirements for analytical and reporting purposes and to provide knowledge leadership, coordination and support in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks to minimize their impact to the organization . Additionally, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, administering, training, maintaining and annually assessing all aspects of NFM’s organization-wide contract and vendor management program.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk, Economics, or related field; additional work experience may be substituted for a degree.
· Seven years’ experience working in compliance and/or risk-management related field in banking or residential mortgage services.
· Certified Regulatory Vendor Program Manager (CRVPM), Preferred
· strong knowledge of federal and state residential lending laws and licensing requirements and working knowledge of laws governing the mortgage and real estate industry to ensure compliance
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. They should demonstrate a knack for effective communication across all levels of the organization and with external vendors.
Essential Job Functions:
· Plan, build, run, and manage the governance and framework supporting third party risk management.
· Promote company-wide understanding of third-party risks through management and administration of the organization-wide contract management, due diligence, and risk management program, including third party criticality, risk assessment, updating of policies and procedures, monitoring, training, and reporting to senior management.
· Support business units in the due diligence processes, risk assessment and contract negotiation.
· Collaborate with the departments and key individuals around the organization and at all levels to coordinate activities and act as consultant on the process of completing required timely contract review documentation.
· Track legislation for the purposes of review and implementation of new laws through multiple departments.
· Draft, review, and amend corporate and branch lease agreements as needed to ensure they are in the best interest of the organization and compliant with local, state, and federal laws.
· Enhance, develop, implement, and administer appropriate compliance monitoring systems to ensure proper parameters for marketing through multiple channels including but not limited to direct mailing, social media, lead aggregators and co-marketing relationships.
· Manages staff for the completion of regular internal risk assessments including but not limited to Fair Lending, AML, and Fraud.
· Maintains an understanding of current mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements as they apply to the organization loan operating system.
· Oversees and works with contract owners to ensure appropriate documentation is collected and exceptions are memorialized.
· Reviews, maintains, and ensures accuracy and files for all NFM contracts in VERA, NFM’s vendor management system.
· Notifies business owners of contract renewal periods, ensures contract negotiations are timely to minimize service interruption and follows up until action is completed.
· Research issues and respond to questions from employees, utilizing legal and regulatory reference materials, professional associations, firms, and organizations as appropriate.
· Manage third-party relationships.
· Keep abreast of regulatory matters and best practices.
· Participate in, and prepare for, regulatory examinations and internal audits and assist in preparing responses to exams and audits.
· Provide support in other risk management programs and responsibilities (e.g. business resiliency, information security), as needed, including other duties as assigned.
· This position may require occasional travel
· Additional tasks as assigned.
