Human Resources Manager

A manufacturing company in Illinois is currently seeking a new Human Resources Manager to join their growing team in Chicago. In this role, the Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing employee and labor relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and total compensation activities at two manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Manager will:
Manage complex employee relations issues and as needed, conducts effective, thorough and objective fact finding meetings
Provide performance management guidance to site managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Provide compensation guidance to site managers (promotions, merit, adjustments, bonus)
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and maintenance of records, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Work closely with the Managers and the Talent Acquisition team to develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for the organization
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team or site leadership to proactively develop solutions
Provide guidance and input on site organizational design, workforce strength and succession planning for key roles
Manage site employee leave of absence and return to work process
Develop and maintain progressive relationships with local union leadership and union committees
Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements pertaining to wages, grievances, employee welfare, healthcare benefits, union and management practices
Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team to manage high volume hourly recruiting
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
7+ years of Human Resources and/or Labor Relations experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources and/or a related field
Proven record of handling Union Grievances and participating in Arbitration and other Labor-related Proceedings, such as Contract Negotiations
Experience with high volume full-cycle Talent Acquisition
Working knowledge of multiple Human Resource disciplines, including Compensation practices, Organizational Diagnosis, Employee / Labor Relations, Diversity, Performance Management, and Federal / State Employment laws
Knowledge of US Labor & Employment Laws
Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) systems
Microsoft Office proficient
Solid analytical, problem solving and time management skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills:
3+ years of Human Resources experience in a Manufacturing environment
Advanced Degree in Labor Relations or Human Resources
SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR
