Neither are we. Because we’re out to create Better Care for a Better World, and that takes a certain kind of person and teams who care about making a difference. Here, you’ll bring your professional expertise, talent, and drive to building and managing our portfolio of iconic, ground-breaking brands. In this role, you’ll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world. It starts with YOU.

Kimberly-Clark is seeking an experienced and passionate Associate Director of Sustainability to lead our sustainability initiatives and drive our commitment to environmental and social responsibility. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to apply. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our sustainability strategy, ensuring that it aligns with our business goals and values. The role will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Category, Sales, CX & Marketing, R&D, and supply chain teams to achieve our Kimberly Clark stated goals as well as drive the proper initiatives to meet our customer goals.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

Developing and implementing a comprehensive KCP North America sustainability strategy aligned with Kimberly-Clark's vision and objectives (including Social, Plastics, Water, Waste, etc.).

Working with category teams to identify, prioritize, and get resourced initiatives to meet customer needs – including marketing, communications, and certifications.

Partnering with the market research function to gather relevant customer insights.

Collaborating with product development teams to integrate sustainable practices into product design and manufacturing processes.

Liaising with the corporate sustainability team to share progress on key metrics and garner their support for specific initiatives.

Evaluating market trends and customer needs on sustainability to help shape KCP and category strategies.

Sharing best practices across regions on washroom and wipes.

Developing a replacement strategy for RightCycle; developing an overall strategy, leading cross-functional teams from strategy to execution, and developing a new brand identity in collaboration with marketing.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with experience in driving strategic initiatives, building robust business cases based on customer insight, and has demonstrated the ability to drive a cross-functional team. Additionally, the candidate would have experience within sustainability as well as in base category roles - launching and developing new products as well as having P&L experience. They will have drive, energy, a strong bias for action, and a clear results orientation. They will lead by example, working in a matrix organization effectively. The incumbent will be a strong people manager and actively drive the development of team members to maximize personal and team success.

In one of our professional roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.

10+ years of experience in marketing/brand/category management roles, consulting roles, or sustainability roles with a demonstrated track record of growth strategy development and strong analytical skill; ability to resolve complex problems and translate market observations to business opportunities.

Strong financial background: ability to build and evaluate business cases and develop a multi-year roadmap to achieve key goals.

Ability to create and communicate to senior leaders in a concise and persuasive format.

Strong business and commercial acumen – understanding of market dynamics, P&L management, and how things translate in commercial execution. Ability to build and develop business cases.

Strong analytical and fact-based decision-making skills. While they will use fact-based arguments to support their proposals/recommendations, they will have strong intuition, be able to “connect the dots,” and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Highly developed collaboration skills with an ability to work and influence across a matrix organization, influencing peers, other functions with credibility and strong business leadership.

Building and Leading Teams: The leader should have the ability to build, motivate, manage, and develop strong teams (both direct and indirect). They will provide clear direction and business solutions to maximize individual and team performance. They will engage, motivate and inspire others and create a culture of innovation and agility.

Change Management Skills - an ability to deal confidently with ambiguity, motivate people through transformation, and mobilize teams to action.

This person will also be able to prioritize issues and opportunities, allocate resources, and manage effectively in a matrix environment.
