And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The EY Public Policy function focuses on the public policy and regulatory issues that affect EY’s businesses, the audit profession, and the broader capital markets. Our dialogue with policymakers, regulators, investors, and other stakeholders helps inform our views and actions as we navigate the complexity of operating across the globe in over 150 countries.

**The opportunity**

This is a full-time role in EY’s Global Public Policy (GPP) team. The EY Public Policy function works to advance EY’s strategic objectives in a number of areas, including regulatory policy related to audit and assurance; sustainability; financial services; digital technology and geopolitics. The Associate Director will be responsible for leading a policy portfolio focused on sustainability and geopolitics.

**Your key responsibilities**

As Associate Director, you will work with other members of the GPP team and with other EY colleagues to help advance EY’s sustainability and geopolitics-related public policy priorities in appropriate forums, including regulatory and legislative bodies, standard-setting organizations, trade associations, and other stakeholder organizations.

Working with GPP and other colleagues, you will also help to develop materials (e.g., slide presentations, talking points, points of view, etc.) that will be used for EY leaders’ internal meetings and meetings with key external parties.

You will also have responsibility for monitoring, researching, analyzing, and reporting on relevant global public policy matters of interest to EY and the accounting profession (principally in the sustainability and geopolitical areas), as well providing input to advocacy strategies.

As Associate Director, you will lead the development and publication of EY’s sustainability reporting monthly newsletter that serves both internal and external audiences. You will also drive operational efficiency including liaising with and managing internal and external vendors, support services, etc.

The role will provide you with opportunities to develop subject matter expertise on matters of vital importance to EY as well as to work collaboratively with EY people from multiple service lines and geographies.

Lastly, you will manage your own portfolio of work, which will be overseen by GPP’s Vice Chair and Deputy Vice Chair.

**Skills and attributes needed for success**

+ Strong writing skills, including the ability to tailor communications to different internal and external audiences

+ An understanding of and interest in global public policy, particularly with respect to sustainability and geopolitics

+ Ability to identify and analyze public policy developments, put them into context and identify/communicate key concerns and insights

+ Ability to oversee multiple tasks concurrently, and on varying topics

+ Strategic thinking skills and experience addressing complex challenges

+ Agility to pivot to emerging issues and tasks of an urgent nature

+ Ability to navigate across EY’s service lines and functions

**To qualify for the role, you must have**

+ 8+ years experience in professional services and/or public policy

+ Experience in a policymaking, advocacy, or government adjacent role

+ Experience with sustainability/ESG policy matters is required; experience with sustainability reporting matters is preferred

+ Supervisory experience, the ability to work as a member of a team, including by collaborating, being transparent, taking initiative, and working virtually if and as appropriate

+ Ability to synthesize complex information from various sources

+ An understanding of—or a willingness to understand—EY’s business and the potential impact of regulation on EY’s business

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively and meeting deadlines on schedule

+ Ability to work across different cultures

+ Strong analytical and communication skills

+ Ability to deal with unexpected or last-minute requests, while executing more regular tasks and projects

+ Demonstrable integrity at all times, and exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential information

**Ideally, you’ll also have**

+ Knowledge of sustainability reporting, geopolitics, AI, audit, tax, or crypto issues

+ Project Management skills

+ MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel a priority) and other technology skills

**Education**

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree is required

+ Master’s degree in business administration or public policy, preferred
