Position Overview
The Sustainability team, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Sustainability Manager! This position will be responsible for supporting the development of the Novelis sustainability roadmap and will have primary responsibility for the implementation of the roadmap throughout the region. The position is responsible for the analysis and implementation of key sustainability initiatives to support the long-term North America strategy to support achievement of key sustainability targets across all value streams and regional functional groups. Working with internal and external subject matter experts, this role will gather information, synthesize business & technical concepts, develop implementation plans and help build strategic business initiatives that drive decision-making at the highest levels of the organization. The Sustainability Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the sustainability agenda of the region, for monitoring the performance against our carbon goals, and for being a key partner inside the organization related to the sustainability topics!

Sustainability Leadership
Lead the efforts working closely with the Global Sustainability Manager to develop globally aligned frameworks, processes, and tools for managing supply chain GHG data collection and analysis for customer reporting, ensuring compliance with the GHG protocol and ISO standards.
Lead, support, and develop a team of direct and/or indirect reports.
Lead the communication plan and change management through workshops and trainings.
Engage in customer and supplier meetings as a sustainability subject matter authority.
Bring an understanding of various climate and sustainability topics and evaluate various decarbonization and waste and water reduction levers (e.g., CCUS, waste heat capture, energy & water reduction)
Represent Novelis North America with ecosystem players (e.g., government, agencies, Industry Association working groups.) to prioritize Novelis Sustainability Initiatives.
Regional Sustainability Strategy
Develop the regional Sustainability Roadmap and prioritize initiatives.
Lead all aspects of the regional sustainability agenda, containing daring short term CO2 reduction goals and a long-term target of reaching a net-zero carbon emissions balance, and achieving waste and water targets.
Collaborate closely with the global Sustainability and Strategy teams on governance-related matters, while also partnering with the European communications and governmental affairs teams.
Integrate sustainability into the regional strategic plan. Ensuring proper priority, tracking and execution to support the overall business objectives.
Build market Intelligence by understanding key market drivers, market position, competitive advantages, and benchmarking of sustainability.
Sustainability Reporting
Refine sustainability related critical metrics along with data monitoring solutions to facilitate decision-making and drive desired outcomes, ensuring data transparency throughout the process.
Develop the appropriate internal and external reporting mechanisms and cadence to ensure barriers to success are appropriately identified and advanced in coordination with the global sustainability team.
Facilitate leadership reviews, resolve bottlenecks.
Understand customer requirements for reporting and customer sustainability targets.
Coordinate with internal collaborators to optimally communicate Novelis life cycle Assessment and carbon footprint methodology.
Minimum qualifications
BA or BS Degree required,
3-5 years of working experience in sustainability, ideally in the metals industry or manufacturing
Familiar with GHG protocol and ISO standards
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through leadership, influence and inspiration.
Results oriented, change agent with strategic approach.
Project management experience
Strong communicator (verbal and written) with executive presence and experience facilitating interactive meetings both internally and externally.
Ability to work in an unstructured environment.
Experience developing and communicating material to a senior level audience.
Strong skills in MS Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred qualifications
MBA or advance degree preferred.
Experience in life cycle assessment methodology and carbon accounting preferred

Novelis Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people.
