Position purpose
The primary role of the Regional Director Operations Director (RDO) is to work in a consultative manner with his/her assigned region of practices to provide operational oversight and strategic growth for a large P&L portfolio of practices and strategic corporate initiatives. Expectations of the RDO include driving topline revenue, increase clinic margins, identifying and elevating talent, and actively participating in the strategy of the organization as it scales. Success in this role requires servant leadership, high learning agility, ability to influence other leaders and physicians, an entrepreneurial mindset, and commitment to an outstanding patient and team experience. This role reports to the VP of Operations, Chief Operating Officer and will hold a strong partnership with the Physician Leadership Council.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks :
Assessing practice-level performance and developing and implementing appropriate action plans to capture opportunities to achieve business goals (e.g., budget) Includes plans related to marketing, pricing, staff labor, operational workflows, and other areas of the business
Full accountability for the financial and operational results for all assigned practice sites including, existing clinics, and future de novo and acquisition clinics to meet specific quality/compliance, patient satisfaction, employee engagement and financial revenue and operating expense / capital expense goals.
Attain command of the competitive landscape for the practice area, make recommendations and execute on growth potential for the assigned practices. Requires skill in designing and negotiating compensation structures that motivate the full healthcare team to perform to its potential.
Proactively hire, train, retain, and develop talent that will serve as future leaders for the organization. Establish consistent and fair review processes that give individuals an opportunity to express their goals and understand how their performance measures against expectations in a fluid landscape.
Drive provider retention, recruitment, and satisfaction. Requires tight performance alignment with Recruiting and M&A as new centers are added to the company.
Building strong relationships with Partner and Associate Doctors, identifying and supporting opportunities for Doctor growth and retention, as well as, supporting recruiting and hiring of new Doctors to the region.
Collaborating with practice teams on development and implementation of tools, systems, processes, and training needed to enhance the ability of their office to serve patients.
Coaching, mentorship, and training of key office personnel and Regional Managers to build their leadership skills and enhance the performance of their teams
Identifying and implementing strategic opportunities for growth, including expansion of facilities & services, and addition of new Doctors.
Helping local leaders establish strong cultures at the practice level, to enhance attraction and retention of talent over time.
Manage the day-to-day operations of an assigned geographic area of multiple dermatology practices.
Collaborates with practice leadership to implement top-line growth initiatives, manage expenses, and execute operational plans.
Participates in the budget preparation process and implement practice improvements.
Oversees local practice administrators and key team members to serve as a valuable resource in developing and executing their practice level goals and support achieving annual budget with long-term success and growth of each practice and the Region.
Applies data centric approach using KPI's to understand the business and growth drivers, collaborating with VP of Operations and implements performance improvement goals and initiatives at each practice.
Serves as a liaison between VP of Operations and practices to ensure the practice is receiving adequate corporate support for success in each functional area.
Successful delivery of excellence in partnership with the Physician Leadership Council and local physician leadership.
Develop relationships and lead monthly meetings with key stakeholders in the Region-with a key focus on partner Doctors.
Ensures high quality patient care and compliance remain top priorities at each practice; develops and collects data that supports the maintenance of key quality metrics.
Willingness to travel 50% of the week to each practice location offering face-to-face support and guidance; seeks to listen and understand practice feedback.
Ensures compliance with applicable government laws, rules, regulations and (SOP or Company) policies and procedures.
Possess strong management skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and lead team members without a direct reporting relationship.
Serves as a cultural leader of excellence in region; monitors and manages team morale.
Consults with Human Resources as necessary in employee relations and team member engagement matters.
Cross-functional team approach with operations, human resources, finance, and business intelligence.
Gathers, analyzes, and presents data with useful metrics to leadership team.
Helps support real estate projects in your region including office refresh and redesign for improved experiences and workflows
Ensure alignment with and implementation of all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Reliable attendance is an on-going essential job function.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management/Business Administration or equivalent experience. Master's degree in Healthcare Management preferred.
Experience:
Background in multi-site, multi-state operations: including full P&L responsibility. 5+ years of operational management experience with demonstrated ability to drive business results.
Clinical operations experience in dermatology or healthcare fields is preferred.
Able to travel 50% of the time.

Staff management experience of 75+ colleagues with provider, medical/clinical and operational staff responsibilities
Knowledge of dermatology specialty practice operations, a plus.
Demonstrated success as a team developer who sharpens individual team members and elevates camaraderie of the full team.
