Position Summary:
HIG’s Business Development (BD) team spearheads the firm’s effort in interfacing with M&A market participants (investment bankers, attorneys, other advisors and investors) in the pursuit of new investment opportunities for the firm’s private equity and debt funds. The Business Development Coordinator will provide functional coordination and support to HIG’s business development efforts, supporting various members of the team. This position requires initiative, time management, and strong attention to detail. A high degree of organization, flexibility and reliability is also required in order to appropriately set priorities and manage multiple responsibilities. This position requires the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven, detail-oriented work environment.
The candidate must be able to work independently, have very strong attention to detail and exceptional work ethic. This position reports directly to the Head of Business Development and will involve interaction with other members of the Business Development team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Salesforce Management/Data Entry: Heavy usage of Salesforce while managing large volumes of data; maintain contacts and record logs of in-person and virtual meetings; assist other Investment Professionals in logging notes, as well as updating marketing and intermediary interactions.
New Deal Tracking and Process Management: Responsible for logging incoming deal opportunities, archiving teasers, Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs) and other investment opportunity related materials. Responsible for managing and coordinating a high volume of Non-disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with a third-party legal services provider.
Event and Conference Coordination: Assist both the Marketing team and Business Development team with conference management, including travel, as well as meeting coordination and scheduling across funds. Assist Business Development with marketing focused outings.
Perform other duties assigned as needed to support the Business Development team.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years work experience (relevant internship experience will be considered)
Must have familiarity with Salesforce or other similar CRM
High attention to detail, very strong organizational skills, sound judgement and problem-solving mentality
Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities, personalities and deadlines
Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Able to maintain a high level of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality
Positive attitude and professional demeanor extremely important
Bachelor’s degree required
