Vice President of Sales

San Diego, CA, United States

Headquartered in San Diego, Mulligan Funding serves as a leading provider of working capital ($5K - $2M) to the small and medium-sized businesses that fuel our country. Since 2008, we have prided ourselves on our collaborative, innovative, and customer-focused approach. Enjoying a period of unprecedented growth, driven by the combination of cutting-edge technology, human touch, and unwavering integrity, we are looking to add to our people first culture, with highly motivated and results-oriented professionals, to push the limits of what’s possible while creating value for all of our partners.

We are seeking a VP of Sales who is driven, intellectually curious, analytically rigorous, possesses an exceptional attention to detail, and has outstanding interpersonal skills in leading their team to new business opportunities to expand revenues and clientele in 2024 and beyond. This position will be attractive to someone determined to deliver high levels of performance and growth – and who wishes to advance their career on the back of assisting Mulligan Funding in meeting its ambitious short- and mid-term goals.

You will: Assist in the effective structuring of the sales organization, including its division into various sales channels, and teams within each of those channels.

Oversee the recruiting of talent for all positions within the sales organization, and continually ensure that each sales professional is in the role best suited to their skills, talents and personality.

Coach, mentor and assist in the training and development of sales professionals across all three of Mulligan Funding’s different sales channels.

Manage a team of highly-motivated sales professionals.

Formulating appropriate compensation plans that motivate members of the sales organization at every level and in every department.

Identify, foster and enable leaders within the sales organization, and hold those leaders accountable for the performance of those for whom they’re responsible.

Formulate and structure the content and cadence of regular training and on-going skills improvement for members of the sales organization at all levels; and oversee the effective implementation of that training.

Establish KPIs and reports by which the performance of all members of the sales organization can best be measured; and use those KPIs and reports to formulate performance goals and standards, continually assess progress and performance against those goals and standards, and communicate results and expectations to members of the sales organization regularly.

Help guide our marketing efforts to ensure our goals are met..

Meet or exceed an assigned sales quota for the sales organization as a whole, and for each of its constituent parts.

You have: A BA in Business Management or other related degree.

Proven leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively with cross functional departments.

Strong people skills, effective in establishing, maintaining and continually improving relationships with both clients, members of the sales organization, and other departments within the business.

A demonstrated track record of highly effective selling skills, with exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication abilities, all deployed within a professional, team-oriented environment.

A history of meeting or exceeding an assigned sales quota and managing high-performing teams.

An effective working knowledge of basic financial analysis, including reviewing bank statements, credit reports, and other associated financial data.

A strong aptitude for lateral thinking and creative problem solving: every day you will encounter multiple situations you haven’t seen before and will need to tackle these challenges head-on.

High-energy is an absolute must.

Experience with Salesforce or other CR from a management perspective.

We offer: Comprehensive medical, vision and dental benefits that give you peace of mind.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) that let you use pre-tax dollars to cover healthcare expenses.

A fantastic 401K with matching contributions that helps you plan for retirement and build wealth over time.

Generous sick, vacation, and holiday benefits that give you the time and flexibility you need to enjoy life.

A gym membership contribution that supports your well-being, and helps you stay energized and focused.

An internal referral program that rewards you for bringing talented people to the team.

Company events that foster a positive and inclusive culture, and create opportunities to bond and grow with your colleagues.

$200,000 - $500,000 a year A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $200,000 to $350,000 per year plus quarterly and/or annual incentives. In order to provide a competitive compensation package, Mulligan Funding takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to market compensation data, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. Mulligan Funding is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and takes great pride in building a diverse work environment. Qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to age, race, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or veteran status.
