Position Summary

The Business Development Representative reports to the Divisional Director.

Located in San Diego, CA

The Business Development Representative will be responsible for generating leads, qualifying prospects, and setting appointments for our sales team. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach to prospecting, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Lead Generation:

Identify and prospect potential clients through various channels, including cold calling, email outreach, social media, and networking events.

Research and qualify leads to determine their fit for our products or services.

Appointment Setting:

Schedule appointments and product demonstrations for our sales team with qualified leads.

Follow up with prospects to confirm appointments and ensure a smooth handoff to the sales team.

Pipeline Management:

Manage and update lead information and activities in CRM software to track progress and ensure accurate reporting.

Monitor and prioritize leads based on their potential for conversion.

Sales Support:

Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies for lead generation and qualification.

Provide feedback from prospect interactions to inform sales strategies and messaging.

Market Research:

Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market developments to identify new opportunities for lead generation.

Customer Outreach:

Reach out to existing customers to gather feedback, identify upsell opportunities, and nurture relationships.

Competencies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage prospects and build rapport quickly.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Results-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding targets.

Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent military or practical experience.

Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related role is preferred but not required.

Experience with lead generation and prospecting techniques is a plus.

Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.

Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
