ABOUT THE JOB
The Director, Strategic Finance will report to the SVP, FP&A & Strategic Finance, and be primarily responsible for leading OneStream's long-range planning process and developing and monitoring its strategic roadmap, corporate objectives, and associated initiatives. A successful candidate will proactively influence, align, and measure success against the company's longer-term goals and key metrics centered around delivering 100% customer success and enabling OneStream to be the operating system for modern Finance. This individual will also support the company's investor relations function and serve as a trusted advisor and go-to person on broad financial, operational, and strategic matters for senior Finance, functional and C-suite executives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and effectively program manage the cross-functional strategic planning process in partnership with senior management (including CEO, CRO, CFO, etc.) and their respective leadership and operational teams
Maintain and regularly update the company's long-term, three financial statement operating model in service of defining, tracking, and measuring success against the company's key long-term operating targets
Develop consistent, scalable frameworks and processes for translating strategy into measurable planning objectives, aligned incentives, and associated resource allocations over longer-term time horizons
Drive development of formalized global strategies and associated playbooks (e.g. market expansion), to include operational best practices across geographies, segments, verticals, etc.
Challenge assumptions, identify and remediate process improvement gaps, and drive efficiencies directed at simplifying processes, ensuring consistency across functions, and removing operational roadblocks
Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to develop and report on key corporate and functional performance metrics to drive topline growth, enhance unit economics, mitigate risk, and drive leverage via operational excellence
Initiate, conduct and translate detailed, unstructured analyses into clear, data-driven storylines, actionable insights, and strategic proposals to enhance decision-making rigor and operational velocity
Partner with CFO and IR team to coordinate and drive quarterly earnings process, activities, and deliverables
QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
Formal Education and Certification
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related discipline; CFA or MBA preferred
Knowledge and Experience
15+ years of progressive corporate finance / FP&A experience in increasingly expansive roles with a track record of attracting, managing, developing, and retaining world-class, high-performing employees and teams
In-depth knowledge and application of fundamental corporate finance and financial accounting principles, ideally within a high-growth, B2B enterprise software / SaaS public company environment
Extensive, hands-on experience building driver-based financial models of varying, scenario-dependent complexity, coupled with associated understanding of related outputs and impacts
Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly and concisely relate ideas, outcomes, and impacts in relation to audience-specific familiarity and expectations
Exceptional planning, prioritization, and organization skills
Proven ability to perform and deliver under tight timelines in a demanding, dynamic environment
Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills, with otherwise general Microsoft 365 app proficiency
