The Senior Director of Strategic Planning will report directly to the ChiefStrategy Officer is responsible for leading and overseeing the development andexecution of the Strategic Planning (STRAP) process and competitiveintelligence initiatives for the enterprise. This position plays a criticalrole in shaping the long-term strategic direction of Honeywell and ensuring itscompetitiveness in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the Strategic Planning (STRAP) process:
Lead the development and execution of the annual STRAP process, working closelywith senior leadership and business units to define strategic objectives,goals, and initiatives.
Facilitate the alignment of business unit strategies with the overall corporatestrategy.
Monitor and track progress against strategic goals and initiatives, providingregular updates to senior leadership.
2.Conduct competitive intelligence analysis:
Gather and analyze market and competitor data to identify trends,opportunities, and threats.
Provide insights and recommendations based on competitive intelligence tosupport strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies to maintain acompetitive advantage in the market.
3.Drive strategic initiatives:
Lead and support the execution of strategic initiatives identified through theSTRAP process.
Collaborate with business units to develop and implement action plans toachieve strategic objectives.
Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of strategic initiatives, makingadjustments as needed.
4. Foster collaboration and communication:
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization toensure alignment and collaboration on strategic initiatives.
Communicate the strategic direction and progress to senior leadership, businessunits, and other relevant stakeholders.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to driveinnovation and continuous improvement.
5.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices:
Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologiesthat may impact Honeywell's strategic planning.
Benchmark and analyze best practices in strategic planning and competitiveintelligence to drive continuous improvement.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate strategy, consulting, private equity, finance or related roles.
Good understanding of the industrial sector and its dynamics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze complex data and information.
Strong financial acumen.
Excellent strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a track record of developing and executing successful strategies.
Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
Excellent communication, written communications and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven experience in competitive intelligence analysis and market research.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
We Value:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience in a top consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) highly preferred, ideally at the Project Manager/Principal level.
