Description
Responsibilities:
Develop annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives
Analyze market factors, using data to inform the sales deployment strategy
Direct implementation and execution of sales policies and practices
Ensure communications are coordinated, support sales plan objectives and meet organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with internal stakeholders
Recommend and drive sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses
Manage multi-channel selling strategies, including inside sales vs. field sales deployment
Design a sales process incorporating both capital and disposable products and services
Build, develop, and manage sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives
Build a commercial operations capability that is using data driven insights to optimize sales deployment strategy
Build consistent awareness of competitive activity
Assist with the planning of sales exhibits and trade show strategies
Manage distributor network including devising distributor programs, establishing and negotiating distributor contracts and providing appropriate levels of support and oversight to the distributors
Build strong partnerships with cross functional partners (i.e. Marketing, Professional affairs, Operations, Finance, HR) to foster vital collaboration and synergistic environment that propels success
Oversees the development of annual expense and budgeting process for the sales team
Serve on the Americas Leadership team, providing strategic direction as a critical cross functional partner for the region
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in business administration, sales and marketing or related field
Proven experience as a VP, Sales, or similar role. 10+ years of sales management and process-based selling experience in a medical device or similar industry
Proven experience in vision care sales management preferred
Ophthalmic capital sales experience a plus Excellent leadership/people management experience in sales function, including performance management, coaching and development, sales methods, and employee motivation.
Expert sales forecasting ability
Experience developing sales incentive plans that achieve desired results
Strong experience in utilizing CRM tools (i.e. SalesForce) to drive efficiency in customer and sales team tracking
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
Excellent business analysis acumen and data-driven thinking and decision-making.
Broad experience in strategic planning and marketing, business and marketing development, sales planning and promotions
