Provides guidance and leadership consistent with the Departments core values of Stewardship, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence and Service. Leads a group of 30+ human resource professionals and serves as a strategic partner with the department management team in planning for and managing an occupationally diverse and geographically dispersed workforce of approximately 3,200 employees. The director ensures that all human resource programs are organized for maximum efficiency and appropriately aligned with agency strategic operating plans, and that a network of internal and external partnerships are developed and maintained to enable the department to achieve critical human resource goals. Establishes personnel policies and priority initiatives to support the on-going recruitment, retention and development of a highly skilled workforce. The director assures that internal processes are in place and maintained to comply with federal and state laws relating to human resources.
