Job Summary :
LHH is looking for an Accounting Director to join its growing department and support business and growth initiatives such as acquisitions and new divisions.
The Accounting Director will play a key role in assisting with the Monthly and Quarterly Financial Statement close and related Management reporting. The position will report to the Controller.
In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a broad array of accounting, analysis, and reporting activities, including:
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
Assist in month-end and quarter-end closes, including tracking and recording of journal entries, account and bank reconciliations and accruals
Financial Statement preparation and support schedules for Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
Assist in more complex accounting functions such as recognizing revenue on various contracts according to GAAP, preparing film amortization entries, reviewing and understanding film ultimate's
Project cost reporting on new deals, including podcast and film production, festival events and print and advertising campaigns
Debt schedule preparation and interest expense calculation
Budgeting
Prepare budget templates for new projects
Account for actual costs and report on various analysis
Treasury
Maintain vendor information in online banking platform
Prepare daily cash on hand schedules
Audit & Tax
Assist and support with external audit, handle audit inquiries, including facilitating and organizing the necessary deliverables
Assist in preparation and submission of quarterly sales tax returns.
Accounts Payable
Maintenance of vendor information and proper forms for tax reporting
Review coding of invoices and prepare aging reports
Review employee expense reports for adherence to company policy
Accounts Receivable
Understand producer fee revenue recognition for key contracts
Create and send invoices to studio partner and fulfill PO’s in studio vendor systems
Create invoices for studio bill back charges
Other
Assist with development and improvement of accounting processes including system implementation/modification, testing, etc.
Innovate, suggest, and create excel templates that streamline and improve processes
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree with focus in accounting
Self-starter, motivated and detail orientated
Excellent verbal & written skills
Considerable understanding of accounting principles and accounting functions
Experience managing processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organization
Hands-on experience working with multiple companies and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills a must
Experience NetSuite
Location: Beverly Hills – hybrid schedule – in office T/W/TH typically
Salary: $110k - $140k + bonus
