The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently seeking a Director of Planning and Strategy to join our team. In this role, you will manage the facilitation, analysis, development, research, and measurement activities supporting McKinstry’s strategic, short-term and long-range planning function. Working alongside McKinstry business leaders to enable key strategies, you will facilitate organizational reviews and market segmentation activities to identify emerging trends, expansion opportunities, and competitive threats.
You're great at:
Managing the short (1 year)- and long range (5 year) planning for McKinstry operating companies, including:
Mapping out an annual planning program rhythm, including key activities, meetings, deliverables, communications, and milestones to drive accountability.
Tying annual planning and budget program to a five-year strategy cycle.
Facilitating priority setting, capacity planning and sequencing across a large matrixed organization.
Collaborating with finance leadership to ensure strategic direction is embedded in modeling, budgeting, forecasting and key investment decisions.
Working hand in hand with all McKinstry entities, teams and snr leadership to align on common goals, prioritize and direct resources and communicate the outcomes we are working toward at all levels of the organization.
Leading measurement, analysis, and offering up action-oriented insights to senior leadership.
Looking around the corner to understand McKinstry’s positioning relative to strategic investments, competitive landscape, market potential, and client needs into the future.
Offering targeted support for business planning, organizational development and/or go-to-market efforts for emerging and evolving McKinstry teams and offerings.
Leading teams through organizational change.
What we would like to see from you:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education required; Master’s Degree preferred.
At least ten (10) years of experience in strategic planning or acting as a consultant on major strategic planning projects required (matrixed, multi-state environment preferred).
Experience developing and managing executive/c-suite level communications.
Experience facilitating effective meetings and workshops. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Thorough understanding of business administration, management, and business forecasting strategies and techniques.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects or programs and leading through influence.
Ability to visualize data to communicate compelling insights.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint, Teams required.
Advanced knowledge of business intelligence tools—Salesforce, Power BI and Tableau preferred.

T he pay range for this position is $124,100-$187,500 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
