Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting functions for Midstream Revenue, Inventory and Exchanges at Sunoco LP. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and providing detailed financial analysis to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.
Ensure all Midstream accounting transactions comply with GAAP.
Revenue Recognition:
Ensure timely and accurate recognition of revenue.
Monitor Midstream contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies.
Review journal entries related to revenue transactions.
Reconciliation and Analysis:
Review regular reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Analyze financial trends and variances to provide insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with operations and finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
Audit and Compliance:
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Develop and maintain documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
Oversight:
Review the work of inventory, revenue and exchange accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering their professional growth.
Coordinate and manage the workload of the accounting team to ensure deadlines are met.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 8+ years of experience.
Revenue recognition.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
The Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
The Senior Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
The Lead Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Usually, normal office working conditions.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
