Job Summary
The Executive Director - Strategic Governance delivers plans and frameworks for the execution of enterprise strategic programs to ensure initiatives are prioritized, appropriately staffed and resourced, have committed benefits, return on investments and meet intended outcomes. This individual is an exemplary influential business leader who delivers value by leveraging strategies to align enterprise stakeholders, providing program governance and continuously improving the project delivery model. The Executive Director of EPMO directly leads a team of EPMO staff and liaises cross-functionally to align interdependencies, ensure internal readiness, provide transparency/manage expectations, drive organizational transformation and long-term strategy adoption. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing, managing and delivering on all internal programs and projects from initiation through to completion. This role leads and reviews all project or programming planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, and people management. This leader directs staff to ensures project results meet requirements regarding quality, reliability, schedule and cost. The Executive Director assigns staff to oversee work performed by outside contractors and reports necessary status updates or changes to executive staff. The leader of Strategic Governance reviews budgets, risk and change reports and ensures projects are completed according to specifications and within budget. The Executive Director provides leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions. This role contributes to the development of the organization's business strategy. The Executive Director Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with strategy. This role typically manages multiple teams of professionals.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Establishes and evolves EPMO standards, templates, tools, and processes to improve program identification, intake, execution/decisioning, and implementation
Maintains relationships with department executives to ensure EPMO quality and service standards are met and advises them on project direction, approach, and general problem solving
Establishes and maintains project communications/health dashboards for multiple internal audiences
Prioritizes and groups projects to achieve strategic business outcomes
Maintains a view of Enterprise Resource Allocation to ensure balanced engagements of project resources
Facilitates high impact strategy alignment and implementation sessions that advance projects to shared understanding and kick-off
Packages green-lit projects for Change Assessment and Project Kick Off by working cross-functionally to deliver scope, business cases, success metrics, initial impacts, and high-level project rosters
Develops project insights that surface both predictive and real-time decision needs and health
Creates and advises on operations, future project plans and policies regarding the development of overall business related programs and delivers cost-effective services to support the Company.
Directs alternatives and makes adjustments to correct problems to solidify successes in the perspective of current and proposed operating strategies
Creates and manages budgets and financial targets for portfolio(s). Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of projects.
Directs project teams in the development and implementation of project plans and instructs staff on project-specific assignments.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
