Help Desk Support Specialist

Batavia, IL, United States

The primary responsibilities of the Help Desk Support Specialist are to provide company-wide onsite and remote troubleshooting and technical support on a variety of IT related hardware, software and business applications and equipment. In this position you will report to the Vice President of Operations.

Responsibilities:

Act as the first point of contact for employees seeking IT related technical assistance- in person, remote or over the phone, and provide support for day to day problems to keep systems operating at optimal level,

Support team to diagnose & resolve networking, computer hardware, software, and operating system problemsSupport system maintenance activities as directed by corporate,

Maintain systems efficiency by performing any necessary upgrades and repairs,

Assign and update security permissions for the system network,

Work with a ticket system to prioritize and document ticket resolutions,

Perform problem-solving tasks through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions when alerted by a user or monitoring system,

Document problems and suggest routine improvements on procedures to ensure all networking tasks and security requirements are met and processes are efficient,

Maintain and update the company equipment and asset list: computers, laptops, phones, and all digital equipment

Collaborate with our remote/offsite IT team in Germany,

Other required duties as necessary

Qualifications:

Minimum 2-3 years previous experience in a similar role or Associates/Technical degree,

Experience using an ERP system and proficient in MS office Suite,

Ability to prioritize duties and shift gears, when necessary,

Excellent planning and organizational skills,

Excellent time management and communication skills,

Strong attention to detail,

Ability to collaborate effectively with others,

Independent worker who is self-motivated, self-disciplined and able to problem solve,

Must possess a Passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally (Germany) on occasion (approximately 1 time per year).
