**Job Summary**

With general direction, research, designs, develops and implements computer network security/protection technologies for company information and network systems/applications. Develops, implements, and maintains complex network and firewall security plans and configurations.

**Responsibilities**

+ Performs security assessments and evaluates new technology.

+ Provides security analysis and support on complex systems for monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, reporting, implementing, installing, and upgrading core infrastructure hardware and software Battelle's infrastructure.

+ Provides advanced technical expertise, consulting, and support to staff members with security tasks. Recommends appropriate actions to improve project security and designs new monitoring strategies for complex securing systems.

+ Interfaces with other Battelle teams to design, implement, install, and upgrade secure systems.

+ Engages external vendors when needed to resolve complex problems or bugs.

+ Acts as a key member of the security or compliance Team by providing monitoring, investigation, and ongoing support to help maintain a high level of availability of secure systems.

**Key Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems; five years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
