Position Summary
Under the supervision of the SON Director of Skills and Simulation Lab, incumbent will oversee, manage, and participate in set-up, take-down, use and maintenance of all simulation equipment, including PC's, AV's, and other associated equipment for the SON Simulation and Skills Lab. The technician will provide consultation and support to faculty and other users regarding the complex simulation manikins, software, task trainers and all other associated equipment. Will provide administrative guidance, as needed, to support faculty and/or outside affiliates for simulation or skill sessions. Will collaborate with faculty and other users to maximize the skills lab equipment; will be responsible for insuring safe and effective use of equipment, including set-up and operation of equipment during simulation sessions. Will engage with faculty and other users to give and receive feedback regarding effectiveness of learning sessions. Will perform needed functions as assigned in support of the Director of the SON Skills and Simulation Lab.

Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of AV equipment. (Preferred)
Demonstrated expertise in independent programming of simulation manikins. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to complete work with accuracy and timeliness under workload and deadline pressures, including fluctuating workload and frequent interruption. (Required)
Exceptional ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff and students. Ability to develop and maintain strong and effective professional relationships with vendors, affiliates, partner hospitals, etc.. (Required)
Exceptional skill in setting priorities and time management, which accurately reflect the relative importance of the job. (Required)
Demonstrates strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. (Required)
Demonstrated experience with purchasing platforms (such as Bruinbuy) and with university purchasing procedures. (Preferred)
Demonstrated experience networking with campus departments to fulfill the needs of the simulation and skills lab. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed. (Required)
Proficiency with medical terminology, physiology and biomedical instrumentation. Previous experience in clinical and educational health care. (Required)
Knowledge of and experience with biological waste disposal using hazmat materials. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to work with persons of various backgrounds and ethnicities. (Required)
