Job title : Vice President of Operations - Lumber
Total compensation: Starting at $228k - $320k a year, depending on experience + Profit Sharing
Schedule : The typical working days for this position are Monday-Friday with the working hours usually falling in an 8 am to 5 pm window with extra hours and weekend work as needed.
Location : Hillsboro, Oregon
The VP of Lumber Operations is responsible for the overall coordination, functional management, and leadership of all departments, and personnel involved in the PARR Lumber Yard operations of the company. This person will utilize the company's FACE values, mission, and vision as guides in order to lead their employees and reach the team's goals. This is accomplished through servant leadership and effective team management.
This position directly reports to the Executive VP/COO and works directly with the Lumber Regional Operations Managers and Managers. This position interacts regularly with the CEO, CFO, Executive Vice President, and Five Oaks teams (Central Purchasing Department, Account Management Team, Human Resources, IT Department, and the PARR Leadership Team) as well as interacting with vendor representatives and industry associates.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or significant relevant industry experience acceptable
Minimum 10 years of building material industry experience required
Minimum 10 years prior supervisory/management experience
Knowledge of lumber and plywood purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes
Driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to maintain adequate liability insurance as required by the company. Minimum $300,000 liability coverage
Ability to speak, write, and read English required
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must be able to type 35+ WPM
Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job

Leadership

Oversees the operations, production, and shipment of quality products from lumber yards
Direct the operations of the lumber facilities
Demonstrate positive interactions with the public
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records
Adhere to all company procedures, policies, protocols, and core values as set forth in the Employees Handbook
Is consistently visible to all levels of the company: speaks up, and is a voice towards problem solving

Develop and maintain pricing & bidding strategies for the manufacturing products
Perform other related duties as assigned
This position works on a computer in an office and on the road visiting different locations and vendors.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
Both local and overnight travel will be required
